THANK YOU!!!
The Cannons would like to thank everyone from our sponsors to our fans who supported us in the 2010 season. Though the season is over where we finished 7-4, there are many new and exciting things going on for 2011!
I would like to take a few moments to thank some people for everything they did for the Cannons to succeed in 2010. First off to all of the coaches (Mike, Scott, Gino, Rod and Chris) for all of the countless hours of preparation they all put into it week in and week out. I can boastfully say that the Cannons have one of the best coaching staffs in minor league football.
To the players who sacrificed days when they could of been doing something with their families for showing the dedication of making it to practice week in and week out. Scheduling work around game and practice days, playing through injuries each week etc. Doing everything asked of them and then some.
Many thanks to Aaron Wilson who is the beat writer for the Baltimore Ravens in the Carroll County Times for getting the word out via newspaper for us week in and week out. I would also like to say thanks to Wayne over at our sponsor 1470 Am WTTR for all the countless radio spots the station gave to us for the season.
To Richard and the FSK JR Eagles for opening up the concession stand at each home game. Because of your support, many teams that came to Cecil-Lee Field each week also commented how great of a place it was to play at.
I would also like to thank Bob Mitchell and the City of Taneytown for their continued support of the Carroll Cannons.
Our team trainer Shannon McCleary who not only tended to our guys every week but also to an opposing player who may of gotten hurt when the other team had no trainer.
My wife Jenn for not only helping pick up new sponsors in 2010, but also for the countless hours on game day of helping make everything run smoothly and also at home either answering and email if I couldn't right away to washing jerseys.
Our Director of Game Day Operations Danny Lewelling for making sure also that game day ran smoothly from finding chain people to operating the scoreboard. Also to the Lewelling family for their donation to the team and helping out at every game.
My mother Nancy Welker and my daughter Alex Welker for manning the main gate at every home game and not only helping to sell T-shirts but also making sure each person that walked through the gate felt welcomed.
To C.J. Burney for all of his artwork on the team website and designing our new design for the t-shirts that sold so well this season.
....But there is still much to be done and it starts today, the Cannons have a title to win in 2011
Many Thanks to you all
